Blessed Sacrament Catholic School,
It is with great joy and a grateful heart that I announce our new School Counselor, Mrs. Jessica Rodriguez! Mrs. Rodriguez is not new to Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, as she joined our community in 2009 when her eldest daughter, Alyssa, started Kindergarten. Since then, Mrs. Rodriguez’s two sons, Christopher and Xavier, graduated and are currently enrolled in our middle school. Mrs. Rodriguez has also served as PTC President and a homeroom parent during her time as a Bulldog Parent.
Mrs. Rodriguez is a licensed marriage and family counselor who has worked in the mental health arena as well as a private therapist. In her interview, Mrs. Rodriguez shared that her priority would be to advocate for students and ensure they feel part of their school community. She also explained that she truly believes in a solution-focused approach. Mrs. Rodriguez will formally begin her ministry at Blessed Sacrament on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Her primary responsibilities will be individual counseling, small group sessions, crisis management, and classroom guidance.
Over the past three years, Blessed Sacrament Catholic School has been utilizing Cataput Learning, a third-party vendor, to provide counseling services for our students. While grateful, the school began looking to increase consistency as well as a greater streamlined program that parallels other Catholic School counseling programs. This also ensures the school counselor falls under the direct supervision of Blessed Sacrament’s administration.
I am thankful for the generosity of a benefactor who assisted with the securing of funds for a part-time counselor. As the needs of the school counseling program increase, I will be working to secure funding to make this position a full-time position.
In the next few days, I will be updating our School Counseling Information Page with an updated referral form. Mrs. Rodriguez can be reached at jrodriguez@blessedschool.com with any questions that you may have.
Again, welcome to Blessed Sacrament (formally) Mrs. Rodriguez!
In service to the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament,
Michael Fierro
Principal
