Blessed Sacrament Families,
Earlier this semester, the Department of Catholic Schools hosted an Education Savings Account (ESA) Townhall Meeting to help explain ESAs and the potential opportunity for Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, along with other Catholic Schools in the State of Texas.
Since the last school year, I have encouraged our families to learn more about how ESAs can help our school, families, and our community, but also stressed the need for a strategic approach to ESAs, ensuring “The Blessed Sacrament Experience” remains true to our mission, Catholic identity, and sense of community.
Part of this strategic approach includes the creation of an ESA Advisory Committee, working in collaboration with the School Council, to take full advantage of how ESAs can enhance our school community. Listed below are the different subcommittees of the ESA Advisory Committee that we are seeking volunteers to assist in our planning and implementation.
Culture Subcommittee
The Culture Subcommittee is dedicated to nurturing and preserving the vibrant Catholic identity that defines Blessed Sacrament Catholic School. As we welcome new families, some of whom may be unfamiliar with the traditions and values of Catholic education, this team will ensure that our faith-based mission remains at the heart of everything we do. Through intentional outreach, inclusive events, and meaningful communication, the Culture Subcommittee will help new families feel at home while deepening our community’s shared commitment to Catholic values.
Facilities Subcommittee
The Facilities Subcommittee will take a proactive approach in evaluating and enhancing our campus to meet the needs of a growing and dynamic school community. With an anticipated increase in tours and interest from prospective families, this group will identify and prioritize key improvement projects. In addition to assessing facility needs, the subcommittee will coordinate opportunities for current families, parishioners, and parish ministries to get involved, fostering a shared sense of pride, stewardship, and service in the upkeep and beautification of our school.
Marketing Subcommittee
The Marketing Subcommittee will play a vital role in promoting Blessed Sacrament Catholic School within our parish and the broader community. Using the strategic framework provided by the Department of Catholic Schools, this team will support and strengthen marketing initiatives that highlight our academic excellence, faith formation, and welcoming environment. A key focus will also be the promotion of Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs) to current and prospective families in our parish, the CYO community, and neighboring parishes without Catholic schools.
Recruitment Subcommittee
The Recruitment Subcommittee will lead efforts to build a warm and personal connection with prospective and new families. Central to this work will be the creation of a Padrino y Madrina (Godfather and Godmother) mentorship program, designed to provide ongoing support and guidance to families as they explore enrollment and transition into our school community. From initial follow-up after a tour to helping new families navigate their first year, this subcommittee will ensure every family feels welcomed, supported, and part of the Blessed Sacrament family from day one.
If you feel called to serve on this important and transforming advisory committee, please complete the membership application below. The School Council will then be contacting you to set up a sub-committee meeting schedule for the remainder of the school year.
May St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Patron Saint of Catholic Schools, continue to inspire and intercede for us during this exciting chapter in our school’s history.
