Inclement Weather

Blessed Sacrament Families,

During inclement weather, Blessed Sacrament Catholic School will follow North East Independent School District’s (NEISD) decision regarding late opening, early dismissal, or school cancellation.  In the event of an inclement weather decision, notification will be sent to all parents/guardians via text message and email message.  Additionally, information will be posted on the school’s website and social media accounts.

To assist with communication, Blessed Sacrament Catholic School has adopted the following Inclement Weather policy and instructional schedules to assist our families.  The policy is effective Friday, January 12, 2024. Additionally, the following policies and schedules will be used for Emergency School Closures (i.e. loss of water, electricity, safety concerns, etc.).

In collaboration with parents and faculty members, I will review these policies and schedules as needed and will update this informational page to ensure updated and timely communication.

In service to the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament,

Michael Fierro

Principal

General Policies for Inclement Weather or Required Virtual Instruction for School Emergencies
  • Blessed Sacrament, when feasible, will allow families to check out a school-issued electronic device.
  • Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class period.
  • Students must be in School Uniform, visible (cameras on), and engaged in the lesson to be marked present.
  • Food and snacks may not be consumed during class periods unless permission is given by the teacher.
  • Assignments will be graded in the manner they would be if students were on campus following campus grading policies.
  • In the event of loss of connectivity, students will be given time to make up assignments using a reasonable amount of time taking into consideration the weather conditions and connectivity.
  • In the event of inclement weather, all after-school activities, including athletics and parent meetings, will be canceled.
  • In the event of an emergency school closure due to a non-weather event, the status of after-school activities, including athletics and parent meetings, will be communicated if alternative plans can be made.

Mr. Fierro will be available to provide online support, usernames, passwords, and email resets between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Parents or students may log onto the following Zoom Meeting to receive necessary information or technical support.  Users will remain in the Zoom Waiting Room and will be assisted on a one-on-one basis.
