Get Ready for the 2024/2025 Blessed Sacrament Catholic School Spelling Bee!
Mark your calendars because the highly anticipated Spelling Bee is just around the corner! Join us on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Parish Banquet Hall for a thrilling competition where spelling champions will rise to the occasion!
This year, we invite all Second through Eighth Grade students to put their spelling prowess to the test. Whether you’re a seasoned spelling bee pro or a first-time contender, this is your chance to shine! 🌟
To help you prepare, we’ve provided a Spelling List filled with words that will be featured in the competition. This year, we will mix in Catholic vocabulary words, tapping into our Catholic faith. These words are not on the word list. All students who sign up will receive a printed copy of this list. Make sure to practice, study, and get ready to wow the crowd! Students have until Friday, March 7, 2025, to sign up, so don’t wait!
Here’s how the competition will work:
Our Rotation Teachers will be your guides through the event:
- Host: The voice of the bee! The host will pronounce each word for the contestants to spell.
- Spell Master: Need a quick check on your spelling? The Spell Master will confirm if it’s correct and even provide the word’s definition, if requested.
- Head Judge/Time Keeper: This dual-role judge ensures that each contestant has 60 seconds to spell the word after it’s clarified. Don’t rush, but don’t dawdle!
- Recording Judge: Every letter counts! The Recording Judge will be writing down each letter you spell, so make sure to speak clearly.
