2017/2018 Faculty and Staff Spiritual Theme Announced!

In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, we hear The Parable of the Sower. In this classic parable, Christ compares the Word of God to a seed and describes how distinct groups of people choose to sow the seed. Most people hear the Word of God, but do not allow the Word to grow in their heart, mind and soul. A few, however, genuinely nurture the seed and experience a true relationship with God.

As Catholic educators, we are entrusted with a number or seeds daily – our students, our parents, our colleagues, our faith and our vocation. While each seed will turn into a different plant or tree, they need to be nurtured. I am confident that if seeds could speak, they would say, “Take Care of Me.” These seeds entrusted to our care need to be cultivated, encouraged, and nourished. It is also important to remember that we too are seeds who also need to be fostered and promoted. So, as we embark on this new school year, I have selected Take Care of Me as our spiritual theme. It is my prayer that as a faith community we transform into sowers and nurture our seeds and taking care of them and ourselves.
