Announcements & Reminders

  • ESA

    The new Education Savings Account (ESA) program—also known as Education Freedom Accounts (EFA)—is designed to help families choose the best learning environment for their children. Through this program, eligible Texas families will be able to receive funds to support approved educational expenses, such as private school tuition, learning materials, and other education-related needs. Beginning in 2026, your family may qualify to receive approximately $10,000 per child, per year to cover tuition and other costs.

    The ESA application window will open in early 2026, but it’s never too soon to start preparing! Taking a few minutes now can help your family be ready to apply right away when the time comes.

    Here are a few documents families will likely need:
    ✔️ Your child’s birth certificate
    ✔️ Proof of residence (utility bill, lease, or mortgage)
    ✔️ Parent/guardian information
    ✔️ Any supporting documents for priority groups (such as income or disability verification)

  • Eighth Grade Retreat

    This week, our Eighth Graders will attend their class retreat at MO Ranch in Hunt, Texas. Mr. Cano, Mr. DeMoor, Mrs. Kokotaljo, and I will be joining our students for this special time as they challenge themselves to leave a great legacy at Blessed Sacrament as well as develop important leadership skills as the oldest students on campus. Please keep the Eighth Grade Class in your prayers, as well as the chaperones.

  • CYO Basketball Season

    The CYO Winter Season Registration for cheerleading and basketball begins on Sunday, October 26, 2025, and concludes on Friday, November 28, 2025. CYO is open to all registered Parishioners of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church who are attending religious education classes or enrolled in Blessed Sacrament Catholic School or Child Development Center. Those interested in registering their children are encouraged to visit the CYO Winter Season Registration Link.

  • School Mass

    This week, students will be attending Mass on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. Regular School Uniform may be worn. Alternatively, the Mass Uniform may be worn. This will allow students to come to school in their costumes on Halloween.

  • Halloween

    On Halloween Day (Friday, October 31st), students will be able to come to school in costume so long as they follow the guidelines: (1) Costume Masks and Make-Up May Be Worn So Long as It Does Not Disrupt Behavior, (2) Students Must Be Able to Go to the Bathroom Without Assistance in Taking Off Their Costume, and (3) Weapon Accessories (Knives, Guns, Swords, etc.) May NOT be Brought to Campus. Additionally, it must be an actual costume and not look like a "Free Dress Day". Students may also elect to come to school in their School Uniform or wear their Día de los Bulldog T-Shirt (Past and Present Years) with Blue Jeans and Tennis Shoes.

  • Thanksgiving Food Drive

    Our 2025 Thanksgiving Food Drive will take place Monday, November 3, 2025 through Friday, November 7, 2025. This annual food drive benefits our parish's food pantry and ensures this important ministry is able to meet the demands of the upcoming holiday season. Students may begin brining in food items on Monday, November 3rd to their homeroom teachers. Thank you for your generosity.

  • Thanksgiving Luncheon

    Our 2025 Family Thanksgiving Luncheon will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2025. This annual tradition brings together our families to celebrate Thanksgiving. Crave-It Nutrition will provided two options - $8 Chicken Tenders and $10 Turkey. Both come with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, gravy, pumpkin pie, and tea or water. As always, families may choose to bring in their own food to eat during the Thanksgiving Luncheon. An email was sent out on November 4, 2025, so that families can begin choosing what table they would like to sit at during their designated lunch period.

  • Parent Volunteers Needed

    On Friday, November 21, 2025, we will be hosting a duty-free appreciation luncheon for our faculty and staff. This small token of appreciation helps express the gratitude we have for such a dedicated group of mission-driven educators. As in previous years, we will be asking for parent volunteers to watch our students between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. All volunteers must meet the safety requirements outlined by the Archdiocese of San Antonio (Code of Conduct, Criminal Background Check, and Protecting God's Children) training through VIRTUS. If you are able and interested in helping, please sign-up here.
