As we begin the fourth quarter of school, I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to teach your children middle school mathematics. I have seen great progress in many of our students this year. I am very proud of the willingness of our middle school students who gave up a Saturday to participate in the Catholic Arts and Academic competition held at Incarnate Word High School. Abby Zorola placed first in the seventh grade middle school math competition. I look forward to encouraging many of our students to compete in the Central Catholic Button Bowl this spring.

Currently, students in sixth grade are covering multiplying and dividing fractions and mixed numbers. Our seventh grade on level students are finishing up a unit on unit rates, proportions, and indirect measurement while our seventh and eighth grade pre-algebra classes are working on solving two step and multi-step equations. The eighth grade algebra 1 class is working on solving systems of linear equations using graphing, substitution, and elimination. I am so proud of our students!

Thank you for your support this year. I am genuinely blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Anne Cavazos
