Friends of Blessed Sacrament,

Blessed Sacrament Catholic School will begin the 2020/2021 Academic Year on Monday, August 17, 2020. Blessed Sacrament remains committed to providing a quality and affordable Catholic education for our families and those interested a faith-based learning environment.

I am pleased to announce that the school’s administration, faculty and staff, and School Council are working to provide on-campus instruction option AND e-learning option. As your principal, I understand that some families remain uncertain about the current health pandemic and may feel an e-learning option would better serve their family students. We are also working on a plan that would allow families who begin the year with e-learning to transition into on-campus instruction when they feel it would be best for their students. We will be sending out a formal inquiry for so a family can select their educational preference.

I will be creating two parent task forces to explore and recommend best practices for both our academic program and school safety protocols. We are using the summer months to reflect upon the lessons learned from online instruction offered during the fourth quarter and making those improvements.  In addition, a plan to Reopen Blessed Sacrament Safely will be created following the guidelines established by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Department of Catholic Schools (DCS).  Registration links will be sent to our parent community should you feel called by the Holy Spirit to serve on one of these task forces.

In additionally, we will begin a online giving campaign to raise the funds necessary to purchase computer hardware and software necessary for a hybrid approach to education ensuring a raise in tuition or a financial strain on the school’s operational does not occur. Some safety equipment will also be part of the online giving campaign ensuring Blessed Sacrament meets the safety components in our established plan.

I have placed my complete trust in Our Lady of Guadalupe. As the first teacher of Christ, she worked to protect and educate Him while on earth. I invoke the name of our Blessed Mother so that she may intercede on our behalf and provide both maternal protection and guidance as we strengthen our partnership during these uncharted times.

In service to the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament,

Michael Fierro

Principal
