• Students can only campaign using posters. Posters should be standard size.
  • Posters will be positive and cannot mention other candidates.
  • All posters must be approved by Mr. Fierro before being posted around our campus.
  • Candidates may have up to five (5) posters in designated common areas. Common areas include: The Cafeteria, The Gym, and Mr. Fierro’s Office Windows.
  • With permission of the teacher, a candidate may ask the following teachers to hang a campaign poster in their classroom(s): Mrs. Heinsheimer, Ms. Gonzalez, Ms. Villarreal, Mr. Laguna, Mrs. Gomez, Mrs. Cavazos, and Mr. Carrillo.
  • With permission of both Mrs. Padilla and Mrs. Murry, a candidate may hang up to three posters in Building C.
  • Posters may be put up beginning on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 and must come down by 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017.
  • Students in Fourth Grade through Eighth Grade will vote on Monday, September 18, 2017 by secret ballot. Each student will get one vote.  Teachers may not vote.  Parents may not vote.
  • The winner of the Presidential and Vice Presidential election will be announced on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
  • Students cannot hang out anything – candy, prizes, snacks, cards, etc.
  • Candidates running for office will need to prepare a speech for the office they are running for (President or Vice President). Speeches will need to be at least one minute long, but not longer than three minutes. Speeches will be made on Monday, September 18, 2017 during Morning Assembly.
  • Speeches will refrain from making unreasonable promises (i.e. extra recess, early dismissal days, fewer school days, field trips, etc.).
  • Candidates are not allowed to bribe voters.
  • Candidates cannot refer to another candidate either on their poster or in their speech.
  • Candidates will respect each candidate’s campaign.
