During the month of October, we learned about community helpers. We discussed the importance of Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Doctors, Nurses, Mail Carriers and Teachers, to name a few. The local Fire Department #28 came which was very impressive! We have a few students who now want to be Firefighters when they grow up.
Our Dramatic Play center was converted into a Dr.’s office which included a waiting area, with magazines to read while waiting to be seen. The children enjoyed dressing up as a Doctor or Nurse and pretended to heal their patients. Blessed Sacrament is nurturing future professionals in the medical field!
As a culminating activity, the students chose a profession and gave a mini- presentation to the class. It was fun learning about the different professions and the roles of each community helper!
