Parents, Guardians, and Grandparents,

Earlier this year, I did make the decision to cancel this year’s Halloween Carnival out of an abundance of safety due to COVID-19.  Although the numbers locally have begun to trend in the right direction, I stand by my decision as all decisions are made in the best interest of our students.  Nonetheless, I wanted to provide something special for them so they know that despite the COVID-19 challenges, we want to keep as many traditions as possible, even if they look a little different! We also want to thank our students for doing such an amazing job with the Big Give SA.

On Friday, October 29, 2021, Blessed Sacrament will host a mini-carnival with games.  Students from St. Anthony Catholic High School, a #BrainpowerConnection partner, will help run the smaller games for our elementary students.  Students will be able to come in their Halloween Costumes.  We will divide the time with our younger students participating from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and our older students from 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon.  Naturally, lunch times may be slightly different on this day.

To help mitigate the costs, we will ask for a small donation that will allow participation.  This will allow the students to play as many games as they want without having to pay for each game.  The school will contribute a portion from our Big Give SA earnings since some of the funds go towards special programs and projects.

In the next few weeks, we will be finalizing details for the day’s event.  This will include a limited among of parent or grandparent volunteers to assist the faculty and staff.  Again, we will publish this information and sign-up in the coming weeks.

In service to the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament,

Michael Fierro
