Blessed Sacrament Catholic School’s Philosophy of Education states, “We promote and guide the development of all facets of the student’s character: spiritual, intellectual, moral, emotional, physical, cultural, and social.”
Although Blessed Sacrament Catholic School provides daily physical education classes and athletic programming, we hope to continue partnering with our parents in the hopes of promoting physical development across grade levels.
With this in mind, we will be launching a monthly fitness targeting specific themes which promote a healthier lifestyle, physical activity, and increased wellness. Students will be given a handout with a list of 30 simple exercises to complete at home. We encourage parents to join their students and complete the list of exercises.
The themes for the remainder of the 2021/2022 school year include:
- February – Muscular Strength
- March – Muscular Endurance
- April – Flexibility
- May – Cardiovascular Endurance
On the first school day of the month, the student brings their signed fitness challenge form to Mr. Fierro during Morning Arrival and spins the Fitness Challenge Incentive Wheel for a prize! It is free, easy, and helps promote fitness among students!
Please be on the lookout for your February 30 Day Fitness Challenge soon! We know, only 28 days in February, but you can do the other two exercises on a day of your choice!
