Friends of Blessed Sacrament,
As you may know, Sr. Misty Garriga will be professing her Final Vows with the Congregation of Divine Providence on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Diocese of Beaumont. She has been preparing for Final Vows since her arrival at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and School four years ago. We congratulate Sister Misty and pray for her during these final weeks of preparation and retreat.
Sr. Misty has also made the decision to relocate to the Diocese of Beaumont at the end of this school year. Following in the footsteps of Blessed Jean-Martin Moye, the founder of her congregation, Sister Misty has accepted a diocesan position responsible for catechesis and evanglization on a diocesan level. Sister Misty will also be closer to her family and in particular, her father, who has been in hospice since this past fall. We congratulate her on her new ministry!
Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is eternally thankful for the spiritual footprint Sr. Misty has left on our school community. The relationship between our school and our parish’s religious education program has been strengthened since her arrival and we pray the Holy Spirit will bring someone who can carry on the work Sr. Misty has begun and further the collaboration between parish and school.
In the near future, I will be sharing how Blessed Sacrament plans on celebrating and congratulating Sister Misty on her Final Vows and change in ministry.
With a greatful heart,
Michael Fierro
Principal
