Blessed Sacrament Families,

Blessed Sacrament Catholic School will celebrate the 100th Day of School on Friday, January 24, 2025.  All students, faculty, and staff are invited to celebrate this special day following the guidelines below.  Alternatively, the School Mass Uniform may be worn. When planning dress guidelines for a Catholic elementary school celebrating the 100th day of school, it’s important to create a fun and festive atmosphere while maintaining respect for the school’s values, modesty, and tradition. Here are some dress guidelines that can balance creativity with these principles:

General Guidelines

  • Modesty: Clothing should adhere to the Catholic school’s dress code, meaning no shorts that are too short, no low-cut tops, and no clothes with offensive language or images.
  • Comfortable & Age-Appropriate: Outfits should allow students to move easily and participate in activities while still being appropriate for the setting.
  • Respect for Others: No clothing with inappropriate or divisive messages. Encourage inclusivity and positive energy for the celebration.

Theme Guidelines

Since the 100th Day of School is a milestone celebration, students can dress up in creative ways to mark the occasion while still adhering to the modesty standards.

Creative 100th Day Outfits

  • 100-Themed Attire: Students can wear t-shirts or other clothing with 100 items (such as buttons, stickers, patches, or fabric appliqué) attached to them. For example, a t-shirt with 100 buttons, beads, or dots sewn on could be fun!
  • Dress as Someone 100 Years Old: Students can dress up in “old-fashioned” clothing to celebrate the concept of reaching a century. Think of elderly-inspired accessories like gray wigs, glasses, or canes, but keep it lighthearted and modest.
  • Wear 100 of Something Small: Students can wear a collection of 100 small objects (such as buttons, beads, or stickers) attached to their clothes, backpack, or headbands.

Guidelines for Accessories

  • Headgear: Encourage fun, themed headbands, such as hats, crowns, or headbands with 100 items attached (buttons, ribbons, or paper cutouts). Keep the accessories simple and safe.
  • Shoes: Comfortable shoes should be worn as usual, keeping in mind the school’s dress code. Sneakers or flat shoes are recommended for ease of movement.

Spirit of the Event

  • Encourage Fun but Respectful Creativity: Remind students and parents that the 100th Day celebration is about honoring the achievement of reaching this milestone, so attire should remain respectful while allowing students to express creativity.

Modesty in Dress

  • Skirts, dresses, or pants should be at an appropriate length (no shorter than mid-thigh).
  • Tops should have sleeves and cover the midriff and cleavage.
  • No clothing with inappropriate graphics or language.

By following these guidelines, students can have a fun, creative, and respectful time while celebrating the 100th Day of School in a way that fits within Catholic values. I look forward to celebrating this special day with our school community!
